Dots of Bynoe

Price

$5,365.00

This painting is created from a bird’s-eye view and captures a real location in the Northern Territory - the beautiful Bynoe region. The land and waterways featured reflect the natural layout of this area, which holds deep meaning for many. A central element of the piece is the barramundi, representing both cultural significance and the importance of fishing in this region.

The intricate dot work throughout the painting depicts native trees, mangroves, rocks, and stretches of beach, each pattern carefully chosen to reflect the textures and life of the land. The tracks and circular symbols represent the movement of people and their campgrounds, illustrating how families and communities travel from all over Australia to this area to connect with Country and catch this iconic fish. This piece took me over 26 hours to complete and contains more than 10,000 individually placed dots. Every mark is a reflection of patience, connection, and storytelling through culture. Through this artwork, I aim to honour the land, the journey, and the joy that brings people together in places like Bynoe.
